The fans could see the return of John Winchester in “Supernatural” Season 11. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who portrayed the “Supernatural” character, revealed in an interview that he is interested to return in the upcoming new season of the CW TV series.

In an interview with TVLine, Jeffrey Dean Morgan admitted that he would love to come back to “Supernatural” as the father of Sam and Dean Winchester. Morgan revealed there is no official talk that he knows of but he is always in contact with “Supernatural” cast members Jared Padalecki, who portrays Sam Winchester, and Jensen Ackles, who portrays Dean Winchester.

“With me it’s always been about scheduling,” Morgan shared. However, Morgan still hopes that he and the “Supernatural” team can “find a little time” and “write something” that he could do when he returns to the show.

“It would be a great joy to go back and play with those guys,” Morgan stated. Aside from wanting to come back to “Supernatural,” Morgan also wants to appear in an episode directed by Jensen Ackles.

“That’s always what I’ve been pushing for,” Morgan shared. John Winchester’s possible return to the CW TV series sparked after executive producer Andrew Dabb teased that “Supernatural” Season 11 will bring up “some things” from Sam and Dean’s past with “interesting repercussions” for the siblings.

In the upcoming new season, Sam and Dean will be dealing with “The Darkness” and John Winchester’s return could have a connection to the show’s new big bad. According to Dabb, the question is not if Morgan comes back as John Winchester but when is the right time for the character to return.

“When it’s going to be for maximum impact? What you don’t want to do is bring a character like that back and waste the opportunity,” Dabb explained. The fans can recall that “Supernatural” brought back some familiar faces in season 10 like Felicia Day as SPM character Charlie Bradbury, Rob Benedict as Chuck Shurley, Timothy Omundson as Cain, Kim Rhodes as Sheriff Jody Mills, Julian Richings as Death and Jim Beaver as Bobby Singer.

“Supernatural” will return with season 11 on Wednesday night, Oct. 7. The premiere episode is scheduled to air at 9/8c on the CW Network.
