“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will reportedly bring back the iconic Jedi master Yoda. A source with knowledge of the film claimed Yoda will be featured in a brief scene while another said he could appear as Force Ghost.

Star Wars News Net cited one of their non-US sources about Yoda’s likely appearance in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The source claimed to know someone who is involved in the foreign audio dubbing of the film who confirmed Yoda’s presence.

“I know someone who works in the ****** media (dubbing) who assured me that there was indeed a scene with Yoda in The Force Awakens,” the source said although didn’t provide further details.

Star Wars News Net, likewise, recalled that one of their staff members was previously told about Yoda appearing as a Force Ghost in the J.J. Abrams film. Yoda’s rumoured appearance in the movie also coincides with the return of Frank Oz in voicing the character in episode one of “Star Wars: Rebels.” Oz had also expressed his interest to voice the old Jedi master again in future “Star Wars” film projects.

According to the site, it would make sense for Yoda to be in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” because it would give viewers an idea about Luke Skywalker’s powers. It has been rumoured that Luke will have Jedi-like powers in the film. This means schaving Yoda would serve as a comparison to determine just how strong Luke has become 30 years after the events in “Return of the Jedi.”

Cinema Blend added that having Yoda as a Force Ghost in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” could also mean he has been talking to Luke over the past 30 years. It’s believed that while Luke has been on self-exile, Yoda has been continually teaching him the ways of the Force. This would reportedly explain the rumours that Luke Skywalker has become very powerful in the film.

However, whether there is truth to Yoda’s appearance in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ still warrant confirmation from Disney and Lucasfilm. The iconic Jedi master was not featured in the official movie poster nor was he on any of the trailers and teasers released for the film.
