The Sony Xperia Z6 is coming to town (some say by late 2016) but the buzz all seems to agree Sony's next flagship phone will feature some pretty serious specs.

Sony hasn’t revealed much about the Sony Xperia Z6 but according to Hue Wire, the smartphone will sport a pressure-sensitive screen technology similar to that of the iPhone 6S and the Galaxy S7. Could this mean the much-awaited Sony Xperia Z6 might overtake the iPhone 7 or even the Galaxy S7? Probably not.

Earlier word suggested a Force Touch screen will be part of the Sony Xperia Z6 to counter the 3D touchscreen on Apple's iPhone 6s. This feature seems to be the only rumored feature the phone is said to have copied from the iPhone 7.

Sony Xperia Z6 will come with other high-tech features that rival high-end smartphones, and one particular advantage is the camera. Since the Z5 already has a startling 23 MP shooter, Sony’s unlikely to change the Xperia Z6 camera.

In addition, it’s possible there could be two other new models whose optics Sony will upgrade first. Currently, the Xperia Z1, Z2, Z3 and Z3+ all have 21 MP cameras.

An additional security feature the Sony Xperia Z6 will apparently inherit from its predecessor is a fingerprint scanner. The new smartphone will also have Optical Image Optimization and HDR features that will improve autofocus performance.

Sony Xperia Z6 will come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor, thus joining the bandwagon. Sony, however, might build its own processor for its Sony Xperia Z6, similar to what Samsung did with its Exynos chipset in the Galaxy S6, according to Recombu.

But it’s more likely Sony will stick with the Snapdragon 820 chipset whose performance and efficiency have been greatly improved.

A compact version of the Sony Xperia Z6 is also anticipated, following in the footsteps of the Xperia Z5. The Xperia Z5 compact version drew raves from critics and fans.

Techno Buffalo reported Rikke Gertsen Constein, Sony's lead designer and art director, as saying the company is already conceptualizing and developing its forthcoming set of flagship smartphones for the upcoming years until 2018.

Recombu states the Sony Xperia Z6 is likely to be released around September 2016 at the huge IFA expo in Berlin.
