Dubbed as the God of F*ck, Marilyn Manson (real name Brian Warner) is not your typical rockstar who wears heavy make-up and tattoos. “Sons of Anarchy” executive producer/director Paris Barclay revealed in the show’s Season 7 behind the scenes that casting Marilyn Manson was one of the biggest surprises in the final season. Known for his role as white supremacist Ron Tully, Manson was remembered as the guy who killed the fans favourite Juice Ortiz, played by Theo Rossi.

“Marilyn Manson is one of the biggest surprises of the season for me,” Barclay admitted at one of Season 7 DVD featurettes. “He came to the set in his foolish Tully make-up and his Tully look, I thought oh that sort of work.”

One of the biggest fans of the show, the “Pale Emperor” singer last appearance in “Sons of Anarchy” was in Season 7’s “Red Rose” where he brutally stabbed Juice in the throat. During his interview, Manson revealed that the show is a big part of his life and “it’s weird when a show influences you so much and you get to be on it, it’s a little overwhelming.”

Determined to make his father proud, the 46-year-old songwriter got the casting call during the time when his whole family is mourning for his mother’s death. The actor thought that he was signing up to do a song for the show, but Kurt Sutter’s wife, Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller), told him that he is going to play a recurring character.

The goth guru plays a prison power player that Jax (Charlie Hunnam) uses to widen SAMCRO’s influence. Manson made his film debut in David Lynch’s “Lost Highway” in 1997, and since then he has appeared in TV shows and played some minor roles and cameos. He joined then-girlfriend Rose McGowan in 1999’s film “Jawbreaker” and joined the cast as himself in comedy-drama TV series “Californication” in 2013.

Meanwhile, “Sons of Anarchy” series creator Kurt Sutter is gearing for his next TV project “The Bastard Executioner.” Sutter is scheduled to joined forces with Paris Barclay who is set to direct the medieval drama’s pilot episode. Katey Sagal is also joining her husband for the second time around after she wrapped up her role as SAMCRO’s matriarch in December 2014.
