A lot is riding on the Samsung Galaxy S8 that will be released in 2017. Samsung is reportedly packing it up with some incredible specs and features that users were not able to get a taste of due to the Galaxy Note 7 recall. The Galaxy S8 is being considered Samsung’s saviour of sorts. But then there is the Apple iPhone 8 and Samsung’s seeing red.

Samsung is said to be working on foldable smartphones. The company is said to experimenting with two-screen and bendable display models. One smartphone is tablet-like that can bend in half in the middle. It will have flat displays on both sides. The other one will have a single flexible OLED display. It’s not known which one is the Samsung Galaxy S8. Such innovations are important to go against the Apple iPhone 8 that everyone believes will be a wonder product.

The Apple iPhone 8 could sport a bezel-less, curved OLED Display with the virtual Home Button embedded in the display itself. The Samsung Galaxy S8 may sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and an Exynos CPU. It is also expected to come with Samsung personal virtual assistant Viv, just like Apple’s Siri in iPhone 8. There are also reports suggesting Samsung going the Apple way by dropping the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will use USB Type-C ports for charging and audio output. Samsung will also be dropping the Home button to shrink the bottom bezel. The fingerprint scanner will also be embedded beneath the display, reports BGR. The smartphone may also sport dual cameras, 4K screen resolution or 2K Ultra HD resolution and 4-6GB RAM. Apple is reportedly working with LG Innotek to enable 3D photographing in Apple iPhone 8 2017.
