The Galaxy Note 3 is rumoured to have the optical image stabilisation incorporated in its camera; however, these plans did not push through. Rumours say that it was because of inadequate supply of stabilised modules at that time. Now, the talked about technology is set to be on the Samsung Galaxy S5.ETNews say that the next generation Galaxy S smartphone will not have the OIS due to a myriad of issues.

The OIS camera modules may not fit in the thin facade of the Samsung Galaxy S5 because it is pretty thick. Another problem is having enough units as the Galaxy S smartphones are known to sell in millions and suppliers might not be able to supply the OIS technology in time for its launch and release early next year. The need is too massive and there is no enough time to supply it.

As of the moment, Samsung is aware that its competitors are utilising OIS as their marketing point and it needs to stay competitive but it is unlikely that it will have that feature on its next Galaxy S smartphone.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S5 will seemingly skip the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS as the Korean tech company is fostering a relationship with the Firefox OS and the Tizen OS. Wonsuk Lee, the chief secretary of Samsung said that they are working on building a relationship between the Firefox OS and the Tizen OS. Although unofficial, it seems that Samsung is ending its relationship with Google and looking into possibilities of other software provider for its smartphone.

Mr Lee further said that both the Firefox and Tizen OS are HTML5 based which means that apps that are written in one platform can work seamlessly with the other. It is rumoured that the Tizen OS will be utilised for the high-end smartphones while the Firefox OS will be for the entry-level devices of Samsung.

At this point it is safe to bear in mind that these rumours are nothing official and it may or may not be false. The same is true for the rumours that the Galaxy S5 might include a metal built and a 64-bit processor.
