When Samsung Galaxy S5 was officially announced in last week's Mobile World Congress 2014, independent mobile devices retailer Carphone Warehouse also posted a pre-registration page complete with details and specs of it right on the same day on February 24. The early setup and posting of a pre-registration page seems to commence reaping rewards as the company confirms that pre-registration is now over 130 percent higher than that of the Galaxy S4.

To think that now is just a few pre-registration days is even more impressive. Furthermore, this is just for the Carphone Warehouse (independent retailer of mobile devices) which put the pre-registration pretty early and up well, before other retailers do the same. The figures show favor to Galaxy S5, making Samsung's new flagship smartphone more promising.

Pre-registration and figures

Pre-registration is a period of 10 days where people can register then contact information for free and in exchange, will receive updates of latest offers and news about a certain device.

Pre-registration figures are not sales figures and there is no confirmed price yet. On a positive note, as pre-sale inquiries, it shows the number of people interested in the product. If the figures continue to rise, the S5 will be a record-breaking device even before reaching the market.

Record-breaking pre-registration figures

US-based T-Mobile likewise announced that outside Europe, the registration page of Samsung Galaxy S5 gathered over 100,000 inquiries in just two days. CMO Mike Sievert of T-Mobile tweeted that a record-breaking pre-registration is just achieved by Galaxy S5.

The much-anticipated Android phone from the South Korean phone titan is among the best phones of 2014. The flagship smartphone follows Galaxy S4 which was launched by the company last year. Galaxy S5 was introduced to the public together with Samsung's wearables: smartwatches Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 and Gear Neo as well as fitness gadget Gear Fit.

It is predicted to go on a tight competition with rivals HTC One, Google Nexus 5 and Sony Xperia Z2. The S5 is expected to be released on April 11.
