Princess Letizia of Spain

These Spanish royals have been going through challenging times, but Princess Letizia of Spain and Prince Felipe showed a relaxed and united front at the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid. The pair received an audience of European scholarship recipients from the Francisco de Vitoria University on July 17.

Princess Letizia served summer chic in her latest Zarzuela Palace outfit (see her outfit here). The 40-year-old cut a refreshing figure in a green, pussy bow blouse, which she tucked into a full, white, eyelet trim skirt. A wide, white belt emphasized the Princess' trim waist. Green sandals and long, drop earrings completed her day time attire. The best part of this royal appearance? Prince Felipe of Spain matching his wife's outfit with a green tie.

It's not often that Princess Letizia treats her fashion fans with a colourful ensemble. On July 16, in Pontevedra, the former news anchor was in a typical Letizia outfit - business/business-casual in subtle hues. She joined her husband for a visit to Marin Navy Academy wearing an ecru blouse in soft silk. Wine-colored trousers and sensible beige heels completed Princess Letizia's look.

The Princess' sense of style has always been a hot topic for royal watchers. While some find her taste quite dull, others praise Princess Letizia for her classic and consistent fashion. The royal has also endeared herself to the Spanish fashion industry by favoring local labels, not only wearing their pieces once, but recycling them, much like Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Princess Letizia will often wear affordable brands like Mango and Zara. Her high-end pieces will usually be from Felipe Varela, Uterque, or Max Mara. Princess Letizia's accessories come by way of Spanish brands as well. Her bag and shoe closet are filled with pieces from Malababa and Magrit. As far as clothes go, she's a real princess of the people, that one!
