"Vampire Diaries" actor Paul Wesley works on his directing skills again in the new PSA for Welcome.us as it celebrates the Immigrant Heritage Month. The 31-year-old TVD star has combined his love for directing and his family as the new PSA features his Polish grandfather.

On May 28, Paul Wesley has expressed his excitement on Twitter about his upcoming directorial project. The Wet Paint report claims the actor travelled to Poland to personally interview his grandfather for the PSA.

"Very excited to be directing a PSA for Welcome.us - Check out the site and stay tuned for Immigrant Heritage Month this June," Wesley posted on his Twitter account @paulwesley. The actor also shared an Instagram image to show his grandfather being interviewed for the PSA.

"Interviewing my grandfather in his living room in Warsaw for my Welcome.us PSA," Paul Wesley wrote as a caption to the image shared on his Instagram account paulvedere. The photo shows Paul Wesley's grandfather sitting on his armchair with the camera equipment around him. Click HERE to see photo.

Even though Paul Wesley changed his surname Wasilewski for his acting career, the "Vampire Diaries" star admitted that he still has a strong connection to his Polish birthright. The actor, who can still speak Polish fluently, shared in the 2010 Onet.pl interview that he often visits his grandparents who live in Warsaw and he is very proud of his heritage.

With "The Vampire Diaries" currently on a hiatus, Paul Wesley can spend more time with his family and go on a vacation trip. The Wet Paint report further revealed that Paul Wesley shared more photos on Instagram from his European trip.

Last May, Paul Wesley was on a vacation in Paris, France with Aussie girlfriend Phoebe Tonkin, who portrays Hayley in "The Originals" and some of the cast members of "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" like Claire Holt (Rebekah Mikaelson), Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol Mikaelson), Danielle Gillies (Elijah Mikaelson) and Arielle Kebbel (Lexi).

Fans can watch Paul Wesley return as vampire Stefan Salvatore in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 which is scheduled to premiere October 2014 on the CW Network.
