OnePlus is apparently gearing up to re-design the OnePlus One successor i.e. the OnePlus Two. In order to make the handset look sophisticated, the OnePlus Two will reportedly feature a metallic design instead of the polycarbonate design seen in the predecessor.

OnePlus Two Design And Price Rumours

Apparently, Business Insider was able to ferret out the design change information from unnamed but credible sources. The publication says, the OnePlus Two will likely feature a metal frame encircling the corners of the handset to provide the premium-look, seen in device like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. But then, with the metallic design in place, the OnePlus Two price ambit could take a toll and therefore, it will not be inexpensive like the predecessor, says the same site. It is worth reminding that, the OnePlus One’s international price is as low as $300. As a word of caution, the same site says, the sources have not confirmed the OnePlus design change at this point and therefore, the company could be mulling this as an option.

When the OnePlus Two rumours were quite strong in November 2014, apparently, a source told Business Insider that OnePlus will throw in a surprise with respect to the hardware configuration. Therefore, the unspecified surprise element could very well be the metal design, notes the same site.

Meanwhile, the popularity of the OnePlus One can reportedly be attributed to two reasons: One, the handset is inexpensive i.e. it costs roughly half the price of a Samsung handset with the same configuration. Two, the OnePlus One comes with cutting-edge specifications that can only be seen in flagship devices. In comparison, the OnePlus One costs $300+, whereas the Samsung Galaxy handsets cost $600+, points out Business Insider.

OnePlus Two Specifications

As far as the rumoured OnePlus Two specifications go, the handset will reportedly come with a 5.5-inch display and a killer 1,440 x 2,560 pixels 2K resolution. Under the hood, the handset will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 805 processor and not the new Snapdragon 810 SoC, says Phone Arena. On the other hand, Know Your Mobile points out that, the OnePlus Two could house the latest Snapdragon 810 chip, along with a killer 4 GB of RAM unit.

When it comes to camera specification, the OnePlus Two will reportedly flaunt a 16 MP rear-facing unit and a 5 MP front-facing snapper. Speaking of memory configuration, the handset is believed to come equipped with 32 GB of in-built storage. And lastly, the whole configuration will be held together by a solid 3,300 mAh battery unit. When it comes to new OnePlus Two features, the phone is expected to come with dual-SIM support and microSD card slot for expansion, according to Phone Arena. In any case, the company has not confirmed the OnePlus Two features or specifications thus far.
