The Arizona Cardinals have announced new contracts for both Steve Keim and Bruce Arians on Monday extending their stay as general manager and head coach of the team in the National Football League, or NFL. The team’s official website and Twitter account confirmed the deal with a statement and other reports say that both gained significant raises from their previous deals.

“Two years ago we hired Steve and Bruce a few days apart and believed we had something really special. Every day since then they have validated that belief. The team’s performance over the last two seasons certainly reflects how talented they are in their respective roles and it was important that we reward them for their accomplishments,” Cardinals president Michael Bidwill said. “I speak not only for myself but all Cardinals fans when I say how thrilled we all are that Steve and Bruce are now under contract though 2018.”

Both of Arians’ and Keim’s deals will last until the 2018 NFL Season and Bidwill added that he wants stability within the team that’s why the franchise extended the contracts of their top officials. The team president also said that they want to build on what they accomplished the past two seasons under Arians and Keim.

The Cardinals have a combined 21-11 win loss record in 2013 and 2014 under the 62 year old Arians. At 11-5, they made the NFL postseason in 2014 but lost to the Carolina Panthers in the wild card playoff. The 11-win output tied the franchise-high for wins in a regular season. Arians was the Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year last season. The 42 year old Keim also assumed his GM post for the Cardinals in 2013.
