Harrison Barnes was having a bad shooting night and was struggling on defence as well. He made up for all of his mistakes by hitting the game-winner with a second to go to give the Golden State Warriors a 107-106 win over the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns needed the W on this one more than the Warriors did. Phoenix fell to 38-38 for the year and now four and a half games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder (42-33) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. With six games left in the regular season, the Suns are now hoping that the Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans (40-34) have a losing mark the rest of the way and that they win most of their remaining games.

Golden State has already clinched the top spot in the conference and another win will assure themselves of a home court advantage until the NBA Finals— if they get there.

As clutch as Barnes was Stephen Curry, who hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 8 seconds to go before Suns guard Eric Bledsoe stole the lead for the Suns with a reverse lay-up late. The Warriors star finished with a game-high 28 points and added 8 rebounds and 5 assists while Klay Thompson had 16 markers. Marreese Speights had 12 points and 6 rebounds for Golden State, which improved to 35-2 at home this season.

For the Suns, six players finished in double-figure scoring led by Bledsoe’s 18 points plus 11 assists. Markieff Morris (17 points and 12 rebounds) and Brandan Wright (16 points and 12 rebounds) both ended up with double-doubles while T.J. Warren added 17 points off the bench.
