The 17th round of Barclays Premier League matches kicks off this Saturday with Manchester City FC hosting Crystal Palace FC at the Etihad Stadium from 12:45 pm local time looking to equalise Chelsea FC's points tally of 39. Chelsea FC have their match on Monday where they can again regain their three points lead.

Going by current form, Manchester City FC only trail their cross town bitter rivals Manchester United FC. They have won their last five matches across all competitions. In fact they have won their last five league matches on the trot as well. This season they have dropped points in only two matches at home. A one goal defeat at the hands of Stoke City FC and a one all draw against Chelsea FC.

The only problem of Manchester City FC that is stopping this match to become a walk in the park is the injury to some of their key players. League top scorer Sergio Aguero is out with a knee ligament injury, captain and a rock in the defense Vincent Kompany is also out with a hamstring injury. Another striker Eden Dzeko is also unavailable because of calf/shin injury.

Crystal Palace FC have been awful so far in the league. After 16 matches they are just hovering above the relegation zone by a solitary point. In the last five matches that they have participated in have resulted in three draws, one win and a loss. Their last win was against Liverpool FC at home on Nov. 23 with a score line of three one. The London based outfit have injury doubts of their own with Wilfred Zaha and Marouane Chamakh both doubtful for the tie.

In the last eight matches between the two sides Manchester City FC have won four, there have been three draws and Crystal Palace FC have won a match. At the Etihad Stadium the four matches played have resulted in two wins for Manchester City FC and two draws. Even without key personnel Manchester City FC should be able to win this match comfortably.
