Justin Bieber has his “Beliebers,” Lady Gaga has her “Little Monsters,” and the boys of One Direction have their “Directioners,” but Lorde don’t have her “Disciples.” The young Kiwi songstress refuses to label her followers, saying it’s the worst thing.

“F***no! That’s the worst!” an appalled Lorde told the British magazine Look, as quoted by the Cover Media.

“I find it grating to lump everyone into a really awkward, pun-centric name. People joke about it on Twitter. ‘You should cal us ‘The Disciples.’ Never! I have discouraged it. I’ve tweeted multiple times: ‘No fan names. I do not condone this.’”

And that is perhaps one of the reasons why her fans love her. It’s all straight talk when it comes to her.

In a separate interview, Lorde admitted that she had turned down a lot of money just so she could stay true to herself.

“I would like to think that my public persona comes naturally to me and isn’t that dissimilar to my real way of doing things,” she told the New York Times via Skype. “I’ve turned down easily millions of dollars doing what I do and saying no to things that I think are corny.”

Meanwhile, Lorde has offered 500 fans under the age of 18 discounted price for her St Jerome’s Laneway Festival show in Silo Park, Wynyard Quarter.

She was announced as a headliner act for the Auckland leg of the festival on January 27, but she cancelled because she has to be in Los Angeles on the 26th for the Grammy Awards. To make up with ticketholders who bought tickets to see her, she will be conducting a free show on the 29th. However, for those who don’t have a Laneway festival ticket, they would need to buy new tickets for the show.

Many have complained that the tickets are expensive, costing $69 with a booking fee each. Lorde has then offered young fans a chance to see her in concert for a discounted price of $59.

i know the @lanewayfest sideshow is $, i didn't set price. it's because they have to keep the staging onsite & road closed for max boogie
