Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently talked about his plans for the “Spider-Man” reboot, wherein he shared some details on how it would be different from previous “Spider-Man” films. Feige also compared the reboot with “Batman Begins.”

In an interview with IGN, Kevin Feige revealed how Marvel and Sony plan to explore the character in the “Spider-Man” reboot. “There are so many things that are integral to his character in the comics that haven’t been explored yet,” he said. Feige especially noted how the character‘s humour in the comics hasn’t been very well-interpreted in previous “Spider-Man” movies.

“When he puts that mask on in the comics, he has a non-stop wit that is almost as troublesome to the bad guys he is fighting as his webs and agility, and we feel we really haven’t seen that in the movies. That’s just the tip of the iceberg,” he explained.

According to ComicBook, Kevin Feige also compared the “Spider-Man” reboot with Christopher Nolan’s “Batman Begins.” The latter was reportedly able to explore and reveal a different side of the caped crusader’s story, which wasn’t seen in previous “Batman” films. Feige said that’s basically what Marvel and Sony have in mind for the web slinger in the reboot, although the film has a different tone from “Batman.”

In a separate interview with Crave Online, Kevin Feige confirmed that the “Spider-Man” reboot will not be an origin story. He said that the film will focus on teenaged Peter Parker who is still coming to terms with his powers. Feige further teased that when the film starts, the high school student, who is around 15 or 16 years old, will have already disguised himself as the web slinger in New York City dressed in his homemade version of the Spider-Man costume.

Feige also revealed that Spider-Man’s costume for the reboot has already been designed. Marvel and Sony have reportedly opted for a classic look for the web slinger. Kevin Feige said during the interview with Crave Online that Spider-Man’s costume in the reboot will be unlike any of the costumes fans have seen in previous “Spider-Man” films.
