Apple could be coming up with a brand new iPad Air 3 in 2017 to surprise fans who expected the same to be released this year. Instead of releasing the successor to the Apple iPad Air 2, the company decided to launch the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. There were also talks surrounding Apple’s discontinuation of the Air line of products too.

Tech enthusiasts believe that the Cupertino-based tech giant could be launching the Apple iPad Air 3 in March 2017 with a sleeker/thinner look and a better feel than its predecessor. Moreover, the Apple iPad Air 3 is expected to be available in more colour options and not just one, writes NEUROGADGET.

In fact, the iPad Air 3 may also implement some of the Apple iPhone 7 features such as the dual lens camera. Apart from it, the tablet may sport an HD 4K Display, Apple Pencil and 3D Touch technology. Rumours suggest that the iPad Air 3 could be the last in the Air line as the previous version did not do as well as expected in the market. The price of the tablet was a major challenge.

In terms of storage capacity, the Apple iPad Air 3 could have a 16GB and 32GB option and the stock price of the device could be around US$610 (AU$820). Moreover, the new iPad Air 3 could be a smaller 9.7-inch version of the iPad Pro, sporting better specs such as 3GB RAM and an A9 processor. As per ValueWalk, fans expect at least an A9X chipset or even an A10 Fusion.

Some of the features that the Apple iPad Air 3 may come with include 3D Touch, fingerprint sensor, waterproof technology and four speakers. Apple will stick to its decision of not including the 3.5mm headphone jack in the device. It is uncertain if the device will come with Apple Pencil support.
