Followers of the Apple iPad Air 3 have started to doubt whether the device would see the light of day. Apple has long been keeping the details and development of the forthcoming iPad Air 3 well under wraps. The Apple tablet has sparked a lot of rumours and discussions since the beginning of this year.

Apple was supposed to launch the iPad Air 3 last year, but even with all the hype that currently surrounds the flagship tablet due to the long delay, the tech giant still manages to stay mum about the overdue device and the overall status of the iPad series. Rumour has it that Apple is concentrating more on the iPad Pro variants and is contemplating on halting the development of the iPad Air line.

According to Engadget, Apple may ultimately decide on discontinuing the production and release of the iPad Air 3, basing on the fact that the Cupertino-based company last released a new iPad Air device a couple of years ago. It is understandable why some Apple fans have become unenthusiastic about the device and have instead focused on the company’s other future offerings like the iPad Pro 2. The rumours and updates, however, won’t stop anytime soon.

According to Neurogadget, the new iPad Air 3 is expected to be powered by Apple’s A9X processor with 4 GB of RAM and will include an 8 MP primary snapper to go with its 2.1 MP front camera. There have also been reports that Apple may unveil both the new iPad Air 3 and iPad Pro 2 by March of next year. It is speculated that the iPad Air 3 would be the last model of the Air variants before Apple ultimately decides to discontinue the whole line so that the company would be able to primarily set its focus on the iPad Pro series.
