Now that Huawei has finally revealed the Mate 9, it will be interesting to see how the smartphone fares against the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. The Mate 9 uses a new Kirin 960 chipset that is considered the highest-performing smartphone processor. It runs on the EMUI 5.0 and it uses the SuperCharge technology that provides a full day’s charge in just about 20 minutes.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the Huawei Mate 9’s Kirin chipset is a world-first in featuring an ARM Cortex-A73/A53 Octa-core CPU and Mali G71 Octa-core GPU. This configuration results in the best multi-core CPU performance among most smartphone SoCs. It even reduces power consumption by 15 percent.

The Kirin chipset even boasts of a 40 percent improvement in energy efficiency and a 180 percent performance boost. A whopping 400 percent increase in graphics performance is also expected in the Huawei Mate 9 compared to its predecessors. The 4,000 mAh battery along with Supercharge Technology charges 50 percent faster than its predecessors.

Huawei has also introduced a battery safety feature wherein the Mate 9 has the Super Safe 5-gate protection that shows the real-time voltage and temperature monitoring to ensure user safety.

Not much need to be said about the Apple iPhone 7 Plus as the Internet is flooded with reviews on the incredibly popular handset. As per Recombu, the Huawei Mate 9 and the iPhone 7 Plus both share some common features such as a powerful processor, powerful HD Display and attention-grabbing design.

The two need to be compared camera-wise with the 5.9-inch Huawei Mate 9 sporting a dual rear camera. The main sensor takes 12MP colour photos that are then combined with monochrome photos taken by the other rear camera of 20MP.

The iPhone 7 Plus also has a dual lens setup, the telephoto lens and the wide angle sensor. The optical image stabilisation feature in the iPhone 7 Plus is brilliant especially when the 7MP front camera is taken into consideration.

However, may tech enthusiasts have the Huawei Mate 9’s photos better than the iPhone 7 Plus’.
