A lot of people like large screened phones. Samsung is just one of the companies that's so successful because of producing large smartphones. That might also be the reason why Apple made the iPhone 6 the way it is. In fact there were a lot of iPhone users that switched to Samsung Galaxy Note just because it has a larger screen. We are going to compare the latest HTC Desire 820, Asus Zenfone 6 and the Huawei Ascend Mate 7.

The HTC Desire 820 was announced at the IFA 2014 in Berlin. It is HTC's first smartphone to have an octa-core processor. The Asus Zenfone 6 is the latest flagship of Asus' series of smartphones and the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 was also announced in IFA 2014 and it is reported to be a high end device.

Design

Both the Ascend Mate 7 and the Zenfone have a 6-inch IPS Corning Gorilla Glass 3 displays. However, the Ascend Mate 7 comes with 1080x1920 pixels with 368ppi while the Zenfone 6 comes with 720x1280 pixels with 245ppi. The Ascend Mate 7 has a fingerprint sensor, a bit thinner and lighter compared to the Zenfone 6. The HTC Desire 820 on the other is quite smaller compared to the other two devices but it is still considered as a phablet. It sports a 5.5-inch LCD 720x1280 pixels with 267ppi display.

Specs

The Desire 820 runs on android 4.4.2 Kitkat and as mentioned earlier, it is powered by a Qualcomm 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor integrated with 4G LTE Cat. 4 connectivity. It has 2GB of RAM, internal storage capacity of 16GB that can be expanded up to 128GB via micro SD.

The Ascend Mate 7 also runs on Android 4..2 Kitkat and it is powered by two quad-core HiSilicon Kirin 925 and the GPU is Mali-T628 processors. It comes in either 2GB of RAM variant with 16GB of internal storage variant or in 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage variant. Both can be expanded up to 128GB via micro SD.

The Zenfone 6 first ran on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean but it now runs on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat as well. It is powered by a dual-core 2GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. The Zenfone 6 comes in three variants. The 8GB, 16GB and the 32GB variants all of these smartphones can be expanded up to 64GB.

Camera

All three phones sports a 13MP rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, face detection, panorama and geotagging but the Desire 820 has simultaneous HD video and image recording. The Zenfone 6 on the other hand lacks HDR. The Desire 820 has a stunning 8MP front-facing camera while the Ascend Mate 7 only has 5MP front-facing camera and the Zenfone 6 only has 2MP of front-facing camera.

Batteries

All three have non-removable batteries but differs on the battery capacities. The Desire 820 has 2, 600 mAh battery and can deliver up to 22h of talk time. The Ascend Mate 7 has a huge 4,100 mAh battery and the Zenfone 6 has 3,300 mAH battery that provides up to 28h of talk time.
