HTC One M8 users have long been waiting for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to finally reach their devices. HTC’s cryptic announcement about the update rolling-out at the "beginning end of 2015" confused many of its users.

Reports the One M8 was going to get the update first surfaced online a while back. It’s only now a known tipster confirmed the update will finally be rolled out.

LlabTooFeR, a known leak specialist on Twitter, revealed the latest Android OS will finally be available for the European counterparts of the One M8 in the next couple of weeks. Plus, he also tipped there will also be a Sense 7.0 update around the same time Android 6.0 Marshmallow rolls out to HTC's One M8.

It must be noted that HTC previously announced the Sense update rollout was going to happen several months ago, but it never happened, either.

Fortunately for One M8 users in Europe, their units have finally been officially scheduled to get both the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the Sense 7.0 update in two weeks. This is quite good news for avid HTC users. After all, they just might finally get the updates they’ve long been waiting for before Christmas.

The One M8 is only one of a variety of smartphones initially slated to get the latest OS from Google. Although the social media leak confirmed the device will finally be part of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout, there has been no news confirming when the other devices on the list -- such as the One M9 -- will get their fair share of the update.

Once the One M8 finally gets the update, consumers expect the One M9 to follow suit shortly, according to Pocket Lint.
