In "The Good Wife," Season 5, Episode 16 ("The Last Call"), viewers learned what Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) wanted to hear from Will Gardner (Josh Charles). Wrapped in her husband Peter's consoling embrace, Mrs Florrick seems to be regretting ending her relationship with Will.

Josh Charles spoke to TV Line about Will Gardner's death in The Good Wife Season 5, Episode 15 ("Dramatics, Your Honour"). He talked extensively about his exit and how Julianna Margulies figured in his decision. It was a decision done in the hopes of starting a new creative adventure for Josh.

In the said interview, Josh set the record straight that he last filmed as Will Gardner for Episode 16. "The Last Call" was such an emotional episode for many fans of the series, especially those who rooted for a "happy ending" between Alicia and Will.

The Good Wife creators Robert King and Michelle King, meanwhile, released a statement (and huge spoilers) on Facebook explaining Will's death to the viewers.

In The Good Wife Season 5, Episode 17, "Alicia and Diane consider merging their firms in the wake of Will's death," reads the synopsis on TV.com. Finn (Matthew Goode) is back, and now viewers are speculating he could be the "new Will" in Alicia's life.

"There is a lot of fun chemistry between Julianna and Matthew, but we can't [talk about romance] until we react a little bit more to what's being shot," Robert King told TV Line.

The Good Wife Season 6 is coming later in the year. CBS has renewed the series, along with "NCIS" (Season 12) and "Elementary," among others. "The Mentalist," however, has not been renewed by CBS.

It will be interesting for fans to see how Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry) would react to a potential firm merge. David Lee (Zach Grenier) is also expected to react with some dramatics. Will's death is going to change everyone in The Good Wife Season 5. Fans have seen only a bit up to Episode 16.

What's next for Kalinda Sharma (Archie Panjabi)? Does she push through with her plans of leaving Lockhart Gardner - a plan she discussed with Will shortly before he died? Certainly, there is a lot going on in The Good Wife Season 5 now.
