“Girl Meets World” has said goodbye to Disney Chanel through an episode titled “Girl Meets Goodbye.” While it was the case, fans are still hopeful that the show will find a saviour through another network that would show willingness to pick the show up. But it seems that saviour is not going to be Netflix, which allegedly said no to the show.

According to latest reports, Netflix is not willing to pick the show up for more episodes. The Wrap has learned that the network will not save the cancelled Disney sitcom but gave no word yet on whether Hulu or another network will give the show a chance.

The show was officially announced to be cancelled on Jan. 4. A Disney Channel insider, allegedly in knowledge of the arrangement between Disney and the showrunners, told the Wrap that running “Girl Meets World” for a fourth season was only an option.

Regardless, showrunner Michael Jacobs does not seem so happy about the show’s cancellation. He states that the story of the follow-up series to “Boy Meets World” still needs to continue. "I don't think 'Girl should have been cancelled," Jacobs previously admitted.

The showrunner has assured the show’s avid viewers that he and his team are having talks with other networks that might save the show. "We are certainly having discussions, there are some interested platforms," he said.

While Netflix does not seem interested in saving the show, fans keep their hopes up as the likes of Hulu and Amazon Studios might consider picking it up. Fans have even conducted Twitter campaigns under hash tags #GirlMeetsHulu and #SaveGMW to get other networks notice the demand.

A month after the show last aired, talks are ablaze on the chances of “Girl Meets World” getting its new home network. Citing ABC's "Nashville" as an example, Reddit user Jedikitty shows hope that the former Disney series can be saved. CMT started airing "Nashville" in December after it was cancelled by ABC in May. "From what I remember, it was a while between the cancellation announcement and the official announcement of a new network pick up," the Reddit user wrote. It seems fans are hopeful and will wait for word in the coming months.

“Girl Meets World” was nominated Outstanding Children's Program for Primetime Emmy. It starred Rowan Blanchard (Riley Matthews), Sabrina Carpenter (Maya), Ben Savage (Cory) and Danielle Fishel (Topanga) among others. The series aired in Australia through Disney Channel.
