The mid-season finale of "The Blacklist" saw the death of Alan Fitch and Berlin. Before the high-tech collar bomb around his neck killed him, Fitch asked Red if he has the 'Fulcrum'. He asked: "Do you have it? Do you have The Fulcrum?" Red did not answer the question. Red's silence hinted that he may not have that.

Entertainment Weekly (EW) says that it looks like that the 'Fulcrum' is not with Red. He intends to execute a plan to get it, according to the spoiler report. However, it will not be easy to do that, as another Blacklister will also be in the fray to become the owner of the 'Fulcrum'. This is likely to endanger Liz's life. And, it looks like Liz may have some connection to the 'Fulcrum'. This may be one of the reasons why Red chose to communicate with only Liz when he surrendered to the FBI in the pilot episode.

The spoiler report says, "but in the process [to get the 'Fulcrum''], Red will be forced to risk his life to protect Liz, who you may be surprised to hear might have a connection to the Fulcrum."

Fitch's final conversation with Red indicated that it is Red's claim that he has the 'Fulcrum' that has stopped 'the people' from killing Red. Fitch told Red that they are going to demand proof. He also said to Red that his death will trigger a series of events and that the moderates are outnumbered. "The more closer we get to 2017, the more radicalised they'll become," Fitch said. He asked him to talk to Mitchum and Hobbs, as they might be persuaded. He also told Red the combination of his safe in St. Petersburg.

In addition to the episodic blacklist cases, the upcoming episodes are likely to reveal slowly the story behind the 'Fulcrum' and also reveal what it is. As previously reported, the Season 2 of "The Blacklist" is expected to explore Liz's mother storyline.

Meanwhile, TV Line is reporting that "The Blacklist" Season 2 mid-season finale saw high rating, with 9.8 million total viewers and a 2.5 demo rating (per finals).
