The SXSW 2014 festival will be dominated by the most number of Australian bands since the time it started in Austin, Texas.

This year's lineup holds a record number of most Aussie bands which reached about 55 acts. Some of the acts include Vance Joy, Kirin J Callinan, The Kite String Triangle, The John Steel Singers, Oh Mercy, Dune Rats, Boy and Bear and a lot more.

Phil Tripp, the Australian representative for the SXSW, the domination of the Aussie acts on the overall lineup will be the basis for the new record of having the "most Australia artists in the US at any one time in history." During the previous year of the Interactive Festival, some of the Aussie performances that made a mark were that of Flume, San Cisco, The Ruben, Vance Joy and the Gold Fields.

"SXSW has been the catalyst for this Australian Invasion of talent for over a decade of momentum and we're ready to explode in 2014," Mr Tripp added.

The SXSW 2014 festival will run from March 11 to 16. Keynote address speakers include Nas, George Clinton and P. Diddy.
