The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be soon rolled out to major smartphone brands. It's now only available on handsets like Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and HTC One A9 that came preinstalled with it. There’s a lot of buzz as to when the latest Android 6.0 build will be made available for Samsung, LG, HTC, Motorola and Sony smartphones.

Samsung

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be the first handset to be blessed with Android 6.0. It’s expected to receive it in December. The Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ smartphones will be updated to the latest Android build by January 2016.

The Note 4 and Note Edge handsets will receive it in February 2016. Last year’s Galaxy S5 will be updated to Android M by April 2016. This detailed report contains information on Android 6.0 roll out information for other Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

LG

Owners of the LG G4 in Poland and South Korea have already received the Android 6.0 update. Hence, LG G4 users in other regions are likely to receive the update very soon. Last year’s LG G3 is expected to receive Android M by the middle of December. The LG V10 and LG Class smartphones that were released recently are also expected to get the newest Android update soon.

HTC

HTC One M9 and HTC One M8 users are expected to receive the Android 6.0 update first. The other handsets from the Taiwanese tech giant that will get Android M are One M9+, One E9+, One E9, One ME, One E8, One M8 Eye, and HTC Butterfly 3. Even Desire series handsets like Desire 826, 820 and 816 are also scheduled to receive Android 6.0 update.

Motorola

Motorola has confirmed that Moto X Pure Edition (2015), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto G (3rd Gen), Moto X Pure Edition from last year, Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto G (2nd Gen), and Moto G LTE (2nd Gen) are going to receive Android 6.0 update. It will be also coming to Droid Maxx, Droid Maxx 2, Droid Turbo and Droid Turbo 2 handsets. Motorola has not confirmed as to when it will start the roll out of Android 6.0.

Sony

The Japanese tech giant has not revealed any information on the precise timeframe as to when Android 6.0 update will be released to its Xperia smartphones. It has revealed the Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z2, Xperia M5, Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia C4 will get the update.
