“Adventure Time” has aired its latest episode, “Wheels,” in which Jake (John DiMaggio) tried to prove that he is cool. There are obvious scenarios that prove he really tries to be one, like when he turns into a giant square when the youngsters called him a square.

Jake carried on with the “I’m old and cool” theme. The latest episode of “Adventure Time” has seen him morphing into an old tree before he turned into an equestrian statue.

The character clearly knows that the easiest way in which he can prove he is cool is by being self-deprecating. He thinks he needs to show the kids that there is no way he is affected by what they say. Surprisingly, his tactic worked as seen in “Wheels.”

In the latest episode of the show, the kids acknowledge Jake’s inherent coolness. All of a sudden, he turns the issue to his granddaughter’s struggling grades. He reminds the youngsters to do better in school.

Before the “Wheels” ends, Jake turns his arm into a rail. As he grinds on with his skateboard, he murmurs the “ow” repeatedly and drags the board against his flesh.

Jake carries Finn (Jeremy Shada) on his shoulder, which was another way to show how cool he is. Then the former throws a beat behind the woodwind and the kids love it.

AV Club notes that it is fun to see Jake in the last episode of “Adventure Time.” His experiences somehow tell that the show is trying to remain cool as it gets older. Several “Adventure Time” viewers would agree that the show is no longer as phenomenonal as it was, but it clearly has not lost its charm just yet.

Fans in Australia can catch the ongoing eight-part series on Cartoon Network. “Adventure Time: Islands” miniseries has premiered on Jan. 30 and will run through Feb. 2.
