5 Seconds of Summer (5S0S) takes US by storm with the band's sophomore album “Sounds Good Feels Good” soaring at no. 1 in the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Nielsen reports that the follow-up to the band’s self-titled maiden album has been released on Oct. 23 under Hi Or Hey/Capitol Records selling 192,000 albums on its first week with Carrie Underwood’s “Storyteller” in close second. The standard LP CD has 14 tracks while the deluxe version has three bonus tracks.

5SOS has the distinction of being the only band with two albums to debut at the No. 1 spot in Billboard 200 chart. Before they released full length studio albums, the band previously had an EP titled, “She Looks So Perfect” that debuted and peaked at No. 2 in the charts.

“She’s Kinda Hot” is the first single off the “Sounds Good Feels Good” album that earned the No. 15 and No. 22 spot on the Pop Songs airplay chart and Billboard 100 chart respectively.

According to Billboard, the ranking is based on multi-metric consumption of music including traditional album sales, track equivalent album sales and album streaming.

In early 2015, the band flew to Los Angeles and wrote the tracks of their second album. British Magazine RockSound published a review giving the album an eight out of ten rating saying that “this is the New Broken Scene, it sounds good and it feels even better.”

Meanwhile, the band also topped the ARIA Albums chart in Australia making “Sounds Good Feels Good” the 748th album to peak at No. 1 in the country and the 395th to debut at No. 1 according to Noise 11. The album also peaked at No. 1 in Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Norway and UK.

Last Oct. 23, the band was in Hollywood for a meet-and-greet where they performed for the fans and announced the tour dates for the “2016 Sounds Live Feels Live tour.”
