CBS’ long-running soap “The Young and the Restless” (“Y&R”) is pulling out all the stops to celebrate a huge milestone: the 11,000th episode on Thursday, Sep.1.

First making its way to the small screen on March 26, 1973, “The Young and the Restless” the highly popular daytime TV drama has follows the lives of the Abbotts, Chancellors and the Newmans. “Y&R” is set in a fictional location called Genoa City.

A special episode awaits fans on Thursday, as they will be treated to a cameo appearance of the legendary “The Young and the Restless” co-creator Lee Phillip Bell. CBS has released a behind-the-scenes video featuring actor Christian LeBlanc, who plays Michael Baldwin. In the video, he sits down with Bell to and his fellow cast members to talk about “Y&R.” Followers of the soap will also be treated with classic clips throughout the years.

“Star Trek” actress Nichelle Nichols has also signed up to guest in the 11,000th episode. On the Sep.1 installment, followers of “Y&R” can expect a feature wherein "relationships are tested, scores are settled, and lives are changed forever," according to We Love Soaps.

CBS also posted videos of “The Young and the Restless” cast as they share their favourite moments on the soap. Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) took a trip down on memory lane, singling out a pivotal scene for his character. "Once I had done that scene, I walked off the stage,” Braeden said. “I knew that it would open up a Pandora's Box for all kinds of emotional scenes."

Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman), on the other hand, claimed “I love the relationship that she [Victoria] has with her family. I love the show's family dynamics.” Meanwhile, Melissa Claire Egan, who plays Chelsea Newman talked about her character and on-screen partner Justin Hartley (Adam Newman). “They are great lovers, but they are great fighters! Chelsea has gone through a lot, but I'm confident that one day she will find her happy ending,” Egan said.

To commemorate such a huge milestone, the “Y&R” cast also got dolled up for an adorable photo shoot. Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman) and Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby) are also set to appear on Thursday’s episode of the “Price Is Right” to share the celebration with some fans.
