Xbox Live App Receives Major Update

Microsoft is now enabling game streaming for Xbox One gamers with a PC or tablet. The new feature will be powered by the upcoming Windows 10 and is scheduled to be released on July 29. In addition to the new feature, the Xbox Live experience to Windows 10 will be expanded with an update that includes several new and improved features.
The announcements were made by the Director of Programming for Xbox Live, Larry Hryb, via the official blog of Major Nelson, Hryb’s alter ego. In the blog post, Hryb wrote that the game streaming service for the Xbox One is now expanding to all Xbox One gamers who own a Windows 10 PC or tablet. The new feature will allow gamers to play their Xbox One games on their PCs and tablets even when they are away from their consoles.
To use the new feature, users need to go into the Settings menu of their Xbox One and then select Preferences. From there, users should then select the option to allow game streaming to other devices. The Xbox app’s latest version should also be installed on the PC or tablet.
Users should then access the Xbox app on the Windows 10 device and choose the Connect option and then add a device; which is the Xbox One console. Once connected, a wired Xbox One controller should then be connected to the PC or tablet. Then, users should go back to the Home page and choose the preferred Xbox One game to play to begin the game streaming service. Users can also have complete control of the Xbox One console by selecting the Game Streaming option in the Xbox app’s home menu, according to Tech Times.
Aside from the game streaming capabilities, the Windows 10 Xbox app will also receive updates to several features. One feature is a party chat option that allows several friends that are on Xbox One to talk to each other. This feature will roll out with the July 29 release of the app on Windows 10. The Xbox app will also feature allow more customization options for a user's profile, an updated Xbox Avatars app, sharing of screenshots and video clips from Windows Store games on Xbox Live
