When it comes to flagship titles for the next-gen Xbox 720, it seems to be losing pace against its biggest competitor, PS4, in terms of the inviting launch titles that it will present during the big reveal.

Considering the titles that have already been revealed for the next-gen consoles, the Durango device will be sharing with PS4 titles including Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and Watch Dogs.

Ryse and Forza have been rumored as launch titles, but with the expected hit shooter game Bungie, successor of the Halo franchise, sealing the deal with Sony, the Xbox 720 needs to step up its game--literally.

According to the Inquisitr, making Call of Duty as a flagship title can retain the Xbox 720's reputation for its first-person shooter games. In fact, the next installment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has been milling about in the rumor house regarding how it can be a launch title for the Xbox 720, but no confirmations have sounded off.

In any case, there's a lot to expect at the May 21 Xbox 720 event this time, not only for the hardware of the Durango console, but also the games that can be expected during the launch.

FIFA 14: Big chance of being a next-gen title

The watch-out for one of EA's next big titles, FIFA 14 continues, this time with the Global Scouting Network that makes the entire experience more realistic.

According to the FIFA 14 official website, the latest reveal for the game involves a career mode, for when you're trying to scout for the biggest superstar.

"You communicate with your scouts what type of player you are looking for, using football terms such as prolific, promising, pacey, and many more," said EA's official statement. "This results in greater interaction with your scouts and the transfer market, and will feel much more organic and authentic."

This will feel like scouting is more of a real, hard-earned experience, rather than purely based on the statistics of each player. Part of the Global Scouting Network is the improved Career Hub, which will be made with fewer distractions as to the game.

There is also an improvement when it comes to the actual game plays and attacks, incorporating physics for an even more realistic play.

"If the ball's at your feet, you'd snap your leg up to get the same kind of animation. That visual tell was always kind of disconcerting, so now you'll be able to adjust your stride to step into a ball," said producer Nick Channon to GamingBolt.

GTA 5: When will it come to the next-gen consoles?

So far, Grand Theft Auto 5 has been confirmed for release on September 17, but only for current-gen consoles Xbox 360 and PS3, but there have not yet been any confirmations when it comes to the next-gen consoles release.

But according to iDigital Times, there will be a May 16 investors meeting where announcements for the Xbox 720, PS4, Wii U, and PC can potentially be made.

Banking on previous schedules for Grand Theft Auto, wherein big announcements were made at similar events, there's still hope for gamers to learn whether or not they can expect the next-gen version this year.

Cross your fingers that more details will come in the investors' meeting for Take Two Interactive.
