The hopefuls of “The Voice” Season 9 tried to prove their mettle by giving their best in the second night of 'The Battles Premiere" on Tuesday. Keith Semple and Manny Cabo from Team Adam and Madi Davis and Sydney Rhame from Team Pharrell presented a spectacular face off.

The first contenders on “The Voice” stage were Keith Semple and Manny Cabo from Team Adam. The duo performed "Baba O'Riley" by The Who and were both praised by all the four judges of "The Voice." Unfortunately, Manny got cut and Keith was picked by Adam for the next round.

Chris Crump and Krista Hughes from Team Blake were next to perform on stage. They sang "When I Get Where I'm Going" by Dolly Parton and Brad Paisley. Paisley even rewrote a part of the song to help highlight Krista's beautiful voice. But it wasn't enough to save her from being eliminated in this round. She was inconsistent during the performance and Chris' voice overpowered hers. Chris’ tendency to modulate his voice and his high notes made him Blake’s pick.

Pharrell paired "The Voice" 2015 hopefuls Madi Davis and Sydney Rhame for the Battle Round. They sang “Riptide” by Vance Joy and Madi’s splendid voice made Pharrell choose her over Sydney.

Meanwhile, Gwen paired Alex Kandel and Kota Wade and the duo performed “It’s My Life.” Gwen chose Kota for the next round of “The Voice” Season 9. Gwen also paired Jeffery Austin and Noah Jackson. The two singers performed “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd. Gwen declared Jeffery as the winner of the battle.

Despite being given a chance to steal the rejected-yet-capable contestants of the other team, Tuesday’s episode of "The Voice," witnessed very few steals. Pharrell Williams picked Ivonne Acero vs. Siahna Im to perform "You Keep Me Hangin’ On" by The Supremes. The two young girls showed great potential through their performance and went on to win appreciation from all the four judges. But Pharrell eventually selected Siahna over Ivonne. Gwen and Blake pressed their buttons to steal Ivonne and save her from being completely cast off from the competition. However, Ivonne chose to be part of Team Blake.
