A social experiment where a young woman is sexually harassed in public on the streets of New York has gone viral. The video on YouTube has been viewed by nearly 7 million people since its release on Oct. 28.

Shoshana B Roberts, the actress in the video, walked for more than 10 hours on New York streets to conduct the social experiment. She was recorded getting verbally harassed on more than 100 occasions by men while she walked past them. She wore a pair of black jeans and a black crewneck t-shirt as she walked through all areas of Manhattan. She never speaks a word during the entire social experiment while men around her seem interested in striking up a conversation with her.

Some of the men around the actress compliment her on her looks while some of them expect her to appreciate that she is complemented. "You should say thank you more," one of them says. There are several ways men want to talk to Roberts. Some strangers ask her how she is doing while some ask her to smile. Some of the men tell her to have a good day while some complement her saying she is "beautiful."

"God bless you mami," one young man says and then his eyes get stuck on the actress' buttocks as she continues to move ahead. "Damn!" the young man says as he continues to watch her rear. Some of the men seem polite as they tell her to have a nice evening. However, one may wonder why they say so to a young girl without even knowing her. One of the strangers compliments the brand logo on her buttocks. "Sexy American Eagle," he says.

One of the men is seen walking silently alongside the actress for five minutes as she continues to walk around the streets. Another man tries to grab her attention by saying that he has just found a thousand dollars. One stranger continues to walk with her and insist her on talking with them. He offers to give her his phone number if she agrees to make friends with him. He wonders if he is "too ugly" for her.

More than 100 instances of verbal street harassment took place within 10 hours that involved people from all backgrounds, the video ends with the note. The harassments mentioned do not include countless winks and whistles the woman had to tolerate, it says. The video which has already gone viral produced and directed by Rob Bliss.
