At IFA 2015, TomTom unveiled its fourth-generation of smart sportswear, the TomTom Spark. The four new models include TomTom Spark, Spark Cardio, Spark Music and Spark Music + Cardio.

“The unique combination of an integrated music player, built-in heart rate monitor, 24/7 activity tracking, multi-sport functionality and GPS in TomTom Spark makes it easier than ever for people to get more from their workout, and improve their overall fitness level,” says Corinne Vigreux, Managing Director, TomTom.

The multi-sports GPS enabled fitness watch is integrated with a music player with the capacity to store over 500 songs. In the multi-sport mode, the users can track their indoor and outdoor sporting activities including running, cycling, swimming, treadmill and gym workouts.

Vigreux further added that music plays an important role in improving the workout regime and relying on a smartphone is quite common, yet can end up being cluttered. The new Spark will come with 3GB of internal storage along with the TomTom wireless fitness headphones, states the press release. The watch can even stream music to a wide range of Bluetooth headphones.

The 24/7 activity tracking feature of Spark keeps a note of active minutes, distance, calories burned and sleep duration of the wearer. Users can set daily and weekly goals and check progress via TomTom MySports app. The built-in heart rate monitor precisely tracks heart rate.

The device also features highly accurate GPS tracking to provide real-time information including time, distance, speed and pace. TomTom has also partnered with the Ministry of Sound to bring in some high energy, motivating tracks for the fitness enthusiasts.

Starting Sep.3, TomTom Spark Cardio +Music GPS fitness watch is available for pre-order on www.tomtom.com/fitness at EUR 249 (AU $400). From October, the entire range of the device will be available on sale in stores.
