“Stranger of Sword City” is the long-delayed Japanese roleplaying game (RPG) that many Xbox One fans have been waiting for, and now the game finally has a release date. According to the publishers in Experience, the Xbox One version of the game will be released on March 22 for North America and March 25 for Europe.

The game is a dungeon crawling RPG and is the first self-published video game from developer Experience. While the team will be publishing the Xbox One version, Gematsu confirmed that NIS America, the publisher of “Disgaea,” will be localising and publishing the PS Vita version.

As of this writing, the Xbox One and Vita are the only platforms that will be getting “Stranger of Sword City.” An article from VG24/7 has stated that a PC version of the JRPG was rated, but Experience has yet to comment on the matter. If it is true, the PC version will likely come out sometime after the Xbox One and Vita versions.

Interestingly enough, “Stranger of Sword City” came out in Japan for the Xbox 360 back in 2014 rather than the Xbox One. To differentiate the worldwide version from the Japanese version, Experience confirmed that there would be new character illustrations drawn by En Okishiji.

However, those who want to see the original art illustrations from Yoko Tsukamoto will have the option to go back to this style. Both the Xbox One and Vita version will have this feature, so players can see which art style they prefer and choose it for the rest of the game.

“Stranger of Sword City” was announced last February as one of the new RPG games coming to the current-gen console from Microsoft. While not an Xbox One exclusive, this game won’t be coming to the PS4 anytime soon and adds a much-needed JRPG to the Microsoft console.

Fans of the game won’t have to wait much longer for “Stranger of Sword City,” as the game will finally be released in March for the Xbox One. No release date has been revealed for the Vita version of the game, though it should come out sometime after the Xbox One version.
