‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’: Andy Serkis is a 'genius'; First leaked photo of Luke Skywalker

A leaked photo of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has surfaced online. Meanwhile, the director J.J. Abrams spoke about what it was like to work with Andy Serkis in the movie, but did not give any details about the character he is playing.

Speaking to EntertainmentWeekly, Abrams called Serkis a “genius” for his work in the forthcoming movie. The actor plays a character that has been created using the motion capture technology in the movie and this is something that the actor has got some expertise in; after having used the technology in big blockbuster movies.

Abrams said that Serkis was a “historically great actor” and also praised him for being the “kindest, sweetest, most lovely guy.” The actor is said to have helped create his character Supreme Leader Snoke in the movie by incorporating technology in a way that no one has seen or done before. “ There are many levels to his genius, but he is certainly a genius,” the director said.

Very few details have been made available about Serkis’ character in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Abrams said that he still doesn’t have any details that he can share about Snoke. The director revealed that the videos and the images of the movie that have been released so far contain clues about the movie and compared them to a jigsaw puzzle that will eventually solve a “mystery.”

“They’re all, in a way, pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that is, little by little, coming together in some form,” Abrams said. So far, two trailers and a behind-the-scenes video have been released by the producers, apart from the official images from the movie.

Many images, concept arts and scene descriptions from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” have already leaked online. The most recent picture to leak online is a picture of Hamill dressed in white Jedi robes and sporting a beard. The actor will be reprising his role as Luke Skywalker in the movie after three decades. This is the first picture of the actor from the movie and he has not been seen in any of the videos or pictures that have been officially released.
