A powerful earthquake struck off Indonesia's popular resort island of Bali on Thursday, causing some damages, though no tsunami alerts were raised. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.0 was centered 60 miles (100 kilometers) southwest of Bali, striking 36 miles beneath the ocean floor.
