One of the most beautiful PlayStation 3 games is coming to PlayStation 4, as it has been announced that “Journey” will be coming to Sony’s current-gen console sometime in the middle of 2015. In addition to the re-release, the game also gets a huge visual upgrade as the title goes from 30fps to 60fps, ensuring higher quality for the PS4 version.

Developed by indie game studio ThatGameCompany, “Journey” was both a critical and commercial success when it came out, hence the re-release. Gamespot has also reported that “Journey” won’t be released alone, as the physical release of the game will come with two other visual masterpieces from the same developer in “Flower” and “FlOw.”

“Journey” will also be available as a stand-alone release in the Sony PlayStation store, seeing as both “Flower” and “FlOw” are readily available there as well. Both “Flower” and “FlOw” were free to customers who purchased the original PlayStation 3 versions, but it has not been confirmed if “Journey” will offer the same deal to previous customers.

Fans who are expecting new features in the “Journey” PS4 version might be disappointed as it has been confirmed that the game will be relatively untouched aside from the visual upgrade. This was also the case for the previous two games by ThatGameCompany, or TGC, as some of their fans have labelled them.

The announcement that “Journey” would be coming to PlayStation 4 was made last year in Gamescom, where many gamers were able to see an already beautiful game look even better. The game was revealed to the audience in 1080p, which was considered a delight by many who attended the show. IGN was able to have some hands-on time with the enhanced remake of “Journey” and seemed to be impressed with how well the port ran in 1080p and at 60fps.

Fans can expect to go on a PS4 “Journey” sometime in the middle of this year, though an exact release date has yet to be confirmed. There were also rumours of the game coming to PlayStation Vita, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
