Pippa Middleton is scheduled to wed her hedge fund manager fiance, James Matthews, on May 20. And while most aspects of the wedding day are likely to have already been accounted for, there is one thing the socialite may not have taken into consideration -- how Prince Harry and his girlfriend Meghan Markle might be the centre of attention.

Pippa’s wedding has been a headline topic for months now, ever since her engagement was made public a few months ago. Likewise, any news about Harry’s blossoming relationship with Meghan has also been making rounds. It is possible that, as one of the guests, the royal will choose the wedding to be his and Meghan's first public appearance together. The situation, however, is one that the 33-year-old bride-to-be might not have considered.

“Harry and Megan are madly in love, and he no longer wants to hide that from the world,” a source told the Daily Star UK. “He is close to Pippa and has been invited to her wedding and has obviously been given a plus one. Harry is adamant that he wants to take Meghan with him."

According to the publication, bringing Meghan would be a huge statement for the 32-year-old royal. If the American actress were to attend the nuptials, it would likely strike a good balance in terms of public responsibility. The wedding and reception will be attended by some of the elite members of society, but it will not be a full fledged royal event.

Harry will theoretically be able to show off his new girlfriend, whom he is said to be falling head over heels in love with. On the other hand, Meghan will not have to deal with the pressures of a strict royal event and most eyes will be on Pippa as she walks down the aisle. It is likely, however, that guests and members of the media will also put some focus on the new couple.

This might not sit well with Pippa, as earlier reports indicated that Kate Middleton was not asked to be her bridesmaid for this very reason. It was said that Kate might take the attention away from her younger sister on the wedding day. And while it cannot be made certain now, the same situation might occur if Meghan is in attendance.

Moreover, Harry and Meghan are said to already be thinking about walking down the aisle themselves. “It’s not your traditional royal match, but Harry is in love and times are changing,” the same source said. “Marry a divorced US actress would no longer be seen as the scandal it would have been 20 or 30 years ago.”
