"Vampire Diaries" star Paul Wesley temporarily said goodbye to his TVD character Stefan Salvatore and prop fangs and daylight ring to wear a different costume for his role in the upcoming film titled "Mother's Day." The 32-year-old actor shared on social media site Instagram an image of himself wearing a chef uniform for his role in the film that also stars Sharon Stone, Susan Sarandon and her daughter, Eva Amurri Martino.

"Faux movie chef for the day," Wesley posted as a caption to the image shared on his Instagram account paulvedere on Saturday, Nov. 22. Click HERE to see photo. According to a Wet Paint report, the TVD star has been cast in the film "Mother's Day" as Kevin, a pastry chef and boyfriend of actress Eva Amurri Martino's character.

Aside from the "Mother's Day" film, Paul Wesley has two other indie films under his work credit outside of the television scene. In "Amira & Sam," the actor stars as a supporting character in the love story film between an Army veteran and an Iraqi refugee.

In "Before I Disappear," Paul Wesley also stars as a supporting character in the story of a man at his lowest point in life receiving a phone call from his sister asking him to look after her 11-year-old daughter. With Paul Wesley's career expanding from television to movies and directing, it is speculated that the actor's portrayal of vampire Stefan Salvatore in the CW TV series could come to an end.

Other reports surrounding "The Vampire Diaries" claim season 6 is going to be the last season for the CW TV series. According to a MoviePilot report, Paul Wesley only signed for six seasons of "The Vampire Diaries" so it is still unknown if the actor will renew his contract for another season of the supernatural TV series.

In the meantime, the fans can catch actor Paul Wesley as vampire Stefan Salvatore in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 that airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network. The TV series is scheduled to return on Thursday, Dec. 4, with episode 9 titled "I Alone."
