LTE is the next stage in the development of mobile networking, and Verizon Wireless is the provider of LTE network. Mobile Virtual Network Operators, MVNOs, buy the data in bulk from the provider and sells this to its customers for a lesser price. One such mobile virtual network operator is Page Plus Cellular. This company was acquired by TracFone Wireless early this year and will be the first to get access to the Verizon LTE Network.

Reports from Prepaid Phone News state that Page Plus dealers have already begun getting the LTE SIM cards, which are activated through the company's dealer portal. There is no information for how long the LTE plans will be active, but the report states that LTE will be available this month.

According to FierceWireless, a spokesperson of TracFone stated that Page Plus Cellular will now offer faster service to all its customers who activate a LTE/CDMA phone on plans that are over $30. However, there has been no information regarding this on the Page Plus Cellular Web site.

Prepaid Reviews lists the following Page Plus plans with LTE:

- 500 MB data, 3,000 text messages and 1,200 minutes per month is $29.95

- 1 GB data, unlimited text and voice per month $39.95

- 3 GB data, unlimited text and voice per month $55

- 5 GB data, unlimited text and voice per month $69.95

Page Plus and Selectel Wireless are mobile virtual network operators of Verizon and these companies would get access to the Verizon LTE network in the third quarter. However, there has been no confirmation from Verizon about this. BYO Wireless, Great Call and ReachOut Wireless are MVNOs of Verizon. These companies do not come out in the open regarding the network that they use.

Verizon offered its prepaid customers LTE for the first time in July. Compared with the Page Plus Cellular plans listed above, Verizon's rates are more expensive. Its prepaid AllSet plan with the option to add more data per month are:

- Unlimited texting and voice with 500 MB of data $45

- Unlimited texting and voice with 1 GB of data $50

- Unlimited texting and voice with 1.5 GB of data $55

- Unlimited texting and voice with 3.5 GB of data $65
