"The Originals" Season 2 succeeded in leaving the fans with a lot of questions on their minds with the mid-season finale episode titled "The Map of Moments" on Monday night, Dec. 8. The CW spinoff series will be on a lengthy holiday break but the fans can speculate on what could happen next based on the exciting events that happened in "The Originals" mid-season finale.

Listed below are just 5 of the storylines to expect when "The Originals" return with the second half of season 2 in 2015:

1. Esther's fate.

Klaus (Joseph Morgan) delivered the news to Esther (Sonja Sohn) that she is now transforming into a vampire after Rebekah (Claire Holt) put her vampire blood in the red wine she was drinking when the Original witch was not looking. The Original hybrid left his mother with the choice of surviving as a vampire, the creature that she hates the most, by drinking the blood bag he threw at her or die. Will Esther still find a way to return to witchcraft or is this really the end for the Mikaelson matriarch?

2. Rebekah's new body.

Davina (Danielle Campbell) was able to prevent Esther's plan of jumping Rebekah into Cami's (Leah Pipes) body but Kol (Daniel Sharman) did something mischievous to his sister when he put her on a different body instead of what he, Davina and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) initially planned. Rebekah wakes up in a body of a teenage witch locked up in the dowager's mansion. The upcoming episodes are expected to reveal if Rebekah will return to her own body or not.

3. Kol and Davina's plan against Klaus.

Kol got what he wanted in the mid-season finale episode. The paragon diamond is now back in his hands which means he can create the dagger that can be used against Klaus. In 1914, Kol's plan was put to a stop. Will the Mikaelson sibling succeed this time with Davina helping him?

4. Finn on the loose.

It looks like Finn Mikaelson (Yusuf Gatewood) is going to be one of the villains on the second-half of "The Originals" Season 2. Finn made it crystal clear to Cami in the mid-season finale episode that he will get back at the supernatural creatures of New Orleans once he is free. Finn also told Cami that he will show no mercy to whoever stands in his way even if it is Cami herself.

5. Aunt Dahlia.

Ever since Esther revealed the curse that her sister, Dahlia (Kristin Erickson), placed on every first born in her family line, the return of the powerful witch appears to be one of the anticipated scenes in "The Originals" Season 2. Dahlia assured Esther that as long as her line shall live, she will come to collect every first born child as payment for the deal Esther made with her in the past. Esther does not know that Klaus' daughter, Hope, is still alive but she fears that Hope's birth will make her evil older sister come back and collect again. Watch the video below.
