Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 spoilers.

The promo video for “Once Upon a Time” Season 5, episodes 8 and 9 tease that the Emma Swan will finally expose her dark plan after succeeding in bringing back together the Excalibur sword and the Dark One’s dagger in episode 7 titled “Nimue.” OUAT character Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) appears to be vital in the Dark Swan’s plan, but Regina Mills/Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) points out that Emma is just being manipulative.

The promo video also teases that the upcoming back-to-back episodes will feature a face-off between OUAT characters Emma Swan and King Arthur (Liam Garrigan) and a shocking revelation that can make the world of the other OUAT characters fall apart. Emma warns that the truth, perhaps on what really happened in Camelot, is awful but Captain Hook still wants to know.

Another exciting storyline to look forward to in the two-hour event of “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 involves Princess Merida (Amy Manson) and her adventure in DunBroch. OUAT recurring cast member Amy Manson teased in an interview with TVLine that “Once Upon a Time” Season 5, episode 9 titled “The Bear King” will be solely set in DunBroch.

Manson revealed that the OUAT fans are going to find out why, how and who killed Merida’s father through the upcoming episode’s flashback scenes. The 30-year-old Scottish actress further teased that the death of Merida’s father will be mixed in with why the red-haired warrior princess needs the help of Mulan, another warrior princess, in her new journey.

Manson added that Ruby/Red Riding Hood will take part in the journey as well. When asked if the viewers can see Princess Merida in a romantic relationship with someone, Manson responded “definitely not” because the mission for the character in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 is too big.

Manson teased that the only people Merida could be with are the clansmen. “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 returns with episodes 8 and 9 on Sunday night, Nov. 15, at 8/7c on ABC.
