“Once Upon A Time” Season 5 Episode 4, titled “The Broken Kingdom,” airs this Sunday on ABC. This week’s new episode is expected to reveal more about King Arthur’s (Liam Garrigan) intentions and motivations. Meanwhile, Dark Swan Emma (Jennifer Morrison) appears to have failed in her mission because of parents Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas).

Spoiler alert: This update contains “Once Upon A Time” Season 5 spoilers. Read on at your own risk if you have not watched the latest episodes.

ABC’s OUAT Episode 4 promo shows King Arthur finally showing his true colours to Snow White and Prince Charming. In the previous week’s episode, David appears to have forgotten why he’s in Camelot in the first place. He has fallen into Arthur’s schemes.

Toward the end of “Once Upon A Time” Season 5 Episode 3, Snow White gets a chance to talk to Lancelot (Sinqua Walls), but he has some bad news. Things are not how they seem in Camelot, he says, leaving Snow White shocked and shaken.

Creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have brought the fantasy drama to new heights of entertainment. By turning Emma Swan into the Dark One and sending everyone on a quest in Camelot, the writers get chance to show how the characters have magically evolved from OUAT Season 1.

Jennifer Morrison has been fantastic as the Dark Swan. She plays ‘dark’ very well, much better than her portrayal of the skeptical Emma Swan in Season 1. In this week’s new episode, Dark Swan goes deeper into the darkness, and it is highly likely that Morrison would shine even brighter with each scene.

By the end of “Once Upon A Time” Season 5 premiere, viewers know that the former evil queen Regina (Lana Parrilla), Snow White, Prince Charming and Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) have failed in Camelot.

In the next new season episodes, Swan tells Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) everyone failed but him. Viewers have yet to find out how this is so. In Episode 3, Swan betrays Hook (breaking the hearts of Captain Swan shippers) in order to steal his pirate sword, an essential ingredient to wake up Mr Gold (Robert Carlyle).

In “Once Upon A Time” Season 5 Episode 4, viewers expect more answers. What happens next, now that Mr Gold is awake? Was there anything Author-related in Henry’s actions in Camelot?

Is Guinevere (Joana Metrass) all right with her husband’s Machiavellian ways? Will there be some Guinevere and Lancelot scenes? The OUAT S5x04 new episode synopsis seems to say it’s a ‘no’ and a ‘yes’ for these respective questions.

“Once Upon A Time” Season 5 is inching closer to the end of Season 5B. If Horowitz and Kitsis would stick to their pattern, there will be a new arc in the second half of the season. This first half has been fast-paced and compelling, so far. By the end of Episode 4, viewers would know more about the disappointment of the Dark Swan, as well as her parents’ role in the failure of their journey to Camelot.
