New Updates For Google Sheets, Docs And Slides

Google has announced the new updates for its Docs, Sheets and Slides apps. Many small and large scale companies depend largely on Google Docs, Sheets and Slides as replacements of Word, Excel and Powerpoint. This update will make editing documents of all kinds much convenient for the owners of mobile devices. For those who spend considerable amount of time of the day on documents and projects, life is going to be easier. Here is how.

Renaming Files

The most notable new feature is to have easier access to one of the most basic editing capabilities – changing document titles from the overflow menu. This new update makes the process of renaming much convenient. Thus users can now edit document, spreadsheet, and presentation titles directly from the overflow menu making renaming files faster according to Android Authority. The hamburger menu appears on the upper right corner of all apps Docs, Sheets and Slides. Users need to just tap the menu and make necessary changes on the dialog box. Organising documents in Google Sheets have also become much simpler.

Changing Layouts

Google Slides updated with an option of changing the layout of any presentation slides to one of the predefined layouts. Thus, updating existing presentations becomes much smoother especially on the move.

Dealing With Comments

According to Inquisitor there are some modifications to Office Compatibility Mode of Google Docs. While working on this mode users can now reply to comments. Additionally, there will be a comments panel where all the comments will be displayed. Earlier, all the comments used to get displayed first followed by suggestions.

Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are available for free on Google Play Store. They are synced automatically to Google Drive. For Android users each update is expected to roll out in few days and reach the users soon. There is no confirmation if the same updates will be available on iOS as reported by Tech Times.
