MSI has launched the all-new X399 Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard to coincide with the unveiling of the AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors. It pretty much has everything any gamer wants from a mobo, including graphics power, thermal protection, energy efficiency, blazing speeds and – of course – RGB lighting. It’s now globally available to pre-order.

MSI’s new motherboard is worthy ally to AMD’s brand new premium flagship Ryzen Threadripper 1950X CPU, its Socket TR4 frame and up to 32 threads. It comes with a considerably strong power design compared to rival brand’s latest products. It also packs an ample amount of true gaming features and select technologies.

The X399 is the first motherboard with completely interchangeable heatsink covers and X-Mounting accessories for printing and modding support. With unlimited customisation options and MSI’s own Mystic Light RGB LEDs, it’s the ultimate modder’s delight. For graphics prowess and maximum stability, it equips four PCI-E slots with Steel Armour, and boasts of multi-GPU technologies.

System boot up and application loading speeds should be blazing fast thanks to up to 96 Gb/s of Triple Turbo M.2 performance. MSI’s latest offering is also powered by the newest and energy efficient ASMedia ASM3142 USB 3.1 controller. The Game Boost feature (with eight gears) is also available for overclocking needs.

“To deliver pure, unprecedented, power and great efficiency when using the new high-end 16-core Threadripper processor, the MSI X399 Gaming Pro Carbon AC is built on a massive 13 phase (10+) DrMOS power design,” according to the Taiwan-based hardware maker. “This [doesn’t just allow] for better overclocking, it also helps harness all the power and temperature generated by the massive number of cores.”

The MSI X399 Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard is priced at AU$639 in Australia and US$379 in the US, and is now available to pre-order. It ships on August 11 and comes with a three-year warranty.
