Microsoft is rumoured to be working on two Windows 10 powered flagships, namely the Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL. Concept renders and leaked photos of the Lumia 940 are consistently cropping up but Microsoft has not revealed anything on the Lumia 940 and its large sized sibling, the Lumia 940 XL.

Microsoft Lovers have published fresh concept images of the Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL on Facebook. Both the devices sport sleek and sophisticated appeal and come with high-end specs.

Microsoft Lumia 940

As mentioned on the concept images, the Lumia 940 will be featuring a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED full HD display. The 32 GB variant will be powered by Snapdragon 808 chipset that includes a hexa-core processor. The 64 GB and 128 GB versions will come loaded with the next generation Snapdragon 815 chip. It will be supported 3 GB of RAM and Intel Real Sense that comes with 3D capabilities.

It will come with 25 MP PureView shooter on its rear along with triple tone LED flash. It will come with support for 4K video capturing and next generation Optical Image Stabilisation. On the front, there is a 5 MP camera. The device will be equipped with a 3250 mAh battery.

Microsoft Lumia 940 XL

The Lumia 940 XL will come with a 5.7-inch huge screen with support for Quad HD resolution. The other specs are same as that of the Lumia 940. However, it is expected to feature 4 GB of RAM and a bigger battery of 3950 mAh capacity. It will also come with a digital pen.

Fake Lumia 940 Image Busted

On May 4, Nowhere Else had published a leaked photo of the Lumia 940. Even though the image was not confirmed by Microsoft, many tech sites reported that it could be the very first image of the first Lumia flagship that would come preloaded with Windows 10 Mobile OS.

WM Power User (WMPU) claims that the closer observation of the image reveals that it is nothing but a fake image. It further adds that the texts 'Microsoft' and 'Lumia' do not seem to be in line with the model number ‘940.’ Even the font style for these texts appears different from each other.

The rear camera on the image seems to show that the Lumia 940 will feature triple LED sensor. However, it has been revealed that one who created the fake image merged the rear image of the Lumia 640 XL with a small sized device. Lastly, it even states that the body of the device seems to be that of the Lumia 830.
