Windows 10 comes with a new internet browser called the Microsoft Edge. The browser was first announced with its codename of Project Spartan around three months ago. It comes inbuilt in the Windows 10 OS for desktops and phones and it replaces the good old internet Explorer. The official announcement on the Microsoft Edge was made during the Microsoft Build Developer Conference 2015 at San Francisco, California, U.S.

Phone Arena states that Microsoft Edge will be available on all the devices like desktops, smartphones, tablets and Raspberry Pi devices that support the new Windows 10 OS. According to the report from The Verge, the following are the expected features of the Microsoft Edge browser:

Note-Taking Support

While accessing web pages on the Edge browser, the Inking Support will let users to add notes and synchronize them to One Drive. Devices that come with stylus will let users to seamlessly add notes and comments even in MS Office documents.

Reading Mode

Reading Mode is a feature that removes all the elements of the web page so that users can see only the text of the web page. It delivers a good reading experience. Users can even save web pages in reading mode so that pages can be view conveniently later on. The said feature has been already available on the Safari internet browser for iOS and Mac OS devices.

Cortana Voice Assistant

One of the best features of the Microsoft Edge browser will be the inclusion of Cortana digital voice assistant support. It will let users view relevant pages to get more information. For example, a person viewing the web page of a restaurant will also be provided with information how to reach the restaurant with directions assistance, contact details and more through Cortana.

Extensions Support

Microsoft Edge will also support extensions like popular browsers like Chrome and Firefox. Moreover, it will also let developers to port Chrome browser extension to the new Edge internet browser without any modification, states Microsoft News.
