The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is in the making and the company is also rumoured to be working to launch a variant of the recently released Galaxy S6. The model numbers of both the devices have been spotted through the IMEI database.

The Galaxy Note 4 that was released last year came with a model number of SM-N910x. According to Sam Mobile, Out of the two mysterious smartphone revealed through IMEI database, one carries a model number of SM-N920F. It is being dubbed as the model number of the Galaxy Note 5. It has been found the Galaxy Note 5 is codenamed as Project Noble. Several model number variants of the Project Noble have also surfaced. They are as follows:

  • SM-N920F EUR XX aimed towards Europe
  • SM-N920S KOR SKC and SM-N920K KOR KTC aimed towards South Korean markets.
  • SM-N920A NA ATT and SM-N920V VZW are suspected to AT&T and Verizon Wireless variants of the Galaxy Note 5 for the U.S. markets.

A variant of the Galaxy S6 has been found with model number SM-G928S. Sam Mobile reports that since the original Galaxy S6 has a model number of SM-G920, the SM-G928S does not seem to be a separate new device but a newer variant of the Galaxy S6.

Codenamed as Project Zen, several variants of the device have surfaced that are aimed towards different markets of the world. They are as follows:

  • SM-G928F EUR XX may get released in the European markets.
  • SM-G928 KOR SKC will be rolled out in the home country.
  • SM-G928A NA ATT and SM-G928V NA VZW are guessed as AT&T and Verizon editions aimed towards the U.S. markets.

As of this writing, Samsung has not released any confirmation on the Galaxy Note 5 and the new Galaxy S6 variant. Also, it is not known when the Galaxy S6 variant will be rolled out in the market. However, going by the previous patterns, a September release is expected, but the recent International Business Times report claims the Note 5 may get unveiled as early as August this year.

It also claims a Galaxy Note 5 Edge variant will also be launched soon. The rumoured specs details on the IBTimes report hints that a monstrous phablet is currently under construction with Samsung.
