Meghan Markle was a supportive wife on Thursday as she surprised Prince Harry with her appearance at a charity polo match. The newlyweds packed on the PDA, with the Duke of Sussex giving his duchess a kiss on the lips when she presented his trophy to him.

The Duchess of Sussex arrived unannounced at the Sentebale Polo Cup to cheer on her husband and his team. Her presence might be good luck to Harry because his team, Sentebale St Regis, won 5-4. The match helped raised money for his children and teenager affected by HIV and AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana.

And they celebrated his win with a kiss.

Polo player Nacho Figueras was pictured holding out the trophy while the two were smooching, prompting the Internet to label him as the poster boy for third wheels. He took in stride, though, poking fun at himself for becoming a meme.

“When you wished the trophy would turn into a violin. What an incredible love story,” he wrote.

It’s not unusual to see Harry and Meghan being affectionate with each other in public. However, when they are on official royal duty, they are more restrained. Case in point, when the couple attended the Young Leaders Reception at Buckingham Palace with Queen Elizabeth earlier this month, the two kept respectable distance from each other. Harry even appeared to refuse to hold Meghan’s hand as they walked behind Her Majesty.

Meanwhile, Harry, Meghan and the rest of the royal family will be taking their summer vacation from August and therefore will have minimum public appearances. According to Hello, it is still unknown where the married couple will go for their vacation, but Meghan, who turns 37 next week, could return to the US to catch up with her friends and family.
