Marvel Employee Teases 'Captain Marvel' Role Given To Natalie Dormer -- Report
Natalie Dormer has been rumoured for the title role of Captain Marvel since November of the previous year. The “Game of Thrones” star has addresses the speculations during an interview and declined to say if she was in the movie or not. However, this time a Marvel employee has reportedly hinted the actress’ involvement through a form of gif.
Executive Editorial Director for Marvel Digital Media Group and Marvel.com Ryan Penagos teased the role of the actress as Captain Marvel on his Web site agentmlovestacos.com. During a question and answer session, he was asked by one fan, “Can we have Natalie Dormer as Captain Marvel?” According to Movie Pilot, Penagos usually gives his answers in the form of gif, as also seen on his site. So he responded with a gif of Natalie Dormer swinging on a hammock and eating a green apple.
Although his response is vague, Movie Pilot claimed it might just mean a little more. His response reportedly hints he already knows something about the rumoured movie. Also that Natalie Dormer is closer to being cast as Captain Marvel.
The “Game of Thrones” star had previously worked with Marvel in a small role in “Captain America: The First Avenger.” But her name reportedly keeps getting mentioned as one of the contenders for the tile role in “Captain Marvel.” So when asked by Collider during its November interview to respond to the speculations, Natalie Dormer declined to comment specifically about the movie. Instead, the 32-year-old said, “I’m not going to comment about potential jobs in the future because that’s a rabbit hole to go down and get caught up in, but all I’ll say is I’ll go where the good scripts are.”
However, Natalie Dormer also expressed her interest to be a part of a mega blockbuster movie and admitted she loves being a part of them. She admitted she’d love to be a part of a film where the script is good like in “Catching Fire” and “Game of Thrones.” Dormer also revealed before she decides to star on a new movie, like her rumoured role in “Captain Marvel,” she looks at the material first so she’d get to know the character.
